Foodie Penpal Part 2

I hope everyone read my Foodie Penpal Reveal post! In case you didn't, make sure you check it out. I received some awesome stuff. I forgot to mention that I sent a package out to Mrs. Maki Cooks. Please go check out her blog to see all her goodies!! This was such a fun process, that I am going to sign up again for the month of July. It is a great way to meet other bloggers and get some neat new food ideas.

Today was the last day of our vacation and we woke to another beautiful day. We managed a few more hours at the beach!! I was excited to spend a few hours there with my daughter and son in law who arrived late night. 

I know it is hard to tell  but my daughter is due to have her baby in 20 days!!!

Well, we are home from vacation and it is time for me to get unpacking. Hope everyone has a great day and stay cool. It is very HOT on the east coast!!

Foodie Penpal

I'm so excited to be a part of Foodie Penpals! I have seen this on other blogs and wanted to know ASAP how I could be a part of it. It is such a great idea and it has really grown in popularity!! Each month you get assigned with someone to send a package of goodies to and receive a package from a different pen pal. This is my first month as a Foodie PenPal!


All packages are mailed out on the 15th of each month. It is hard to keep all the excitement until the 30th. My package arrived in plenty of time!

 
 I received my package from Elizabeth at Reading Between the Miles.
This was her first time sending out a package as well! I think she did a great job! Be sure to check out her cute blog!

My package was amazing! It included such a variety. I love Justin's butters- she included the almond and hazelnut. I love to spread these on bananas. I am excited to try the Power Bar Energy Bites. They look so good.
I am a popcorn lover but have never tried the Orville Lime & Salt. It did not take me long to get into the Newman's Own peanut butter cups!! I also received some granola and a can of energy drink to give a try.


My daughter insisted that I pose with my goodies.

One More Day of Vaca

Excited for our oldest daughter and her husband to arrive at the beach tonight! Even though she is due with her first baby on July 20, she insisted she still wanted to come. We hope to spend a few hours on the beach tomorrow. Check out is Saturday at 11am so we will be up and out early. Until then, I am going to enjoy the rest of my Friday!

Breakfast, bagel with light cc and a banana. So happy that we are just a few miles from a Starbucks!

We would head to Starbucks each morning for my tea and my husband and daughters coffee. I always got an extra tea to go and would put in the cooler to enjoy on the beach. Lets just say it got rather expensive! I will be happy to just get it from my refrigerator at home!!

Did not feel like lunch yet so I just enjoyed my Clif.

Lunch around 2 was a chicken salad sandwich on ww.

160 calories.

I have a problem! No, its called a vacation:)

I figured since we are leaving tomorrow, I would post some pics of where we are staying!! 
Bethany Beach, DE

Love this beach community. We have stayed here several times and keep coming back. Bethany Beach is just a few miles north of Ocean City, MD. It is about 3 hours from our house. So, all my blogger friends who live on the west coast, who can run along the beach each day, I am forever jealous!!!

Plus, my husband truck fits!!

The neighborhood is perfect for running, its FLAT!! It is just over 3 miles long if you run all the streets. There is also plenty of shaded areas if you wanted to stay out of the sun. On Wednesdays run, I stuck with the main road in and out of the community, because it is all shade. My run was around 4pm and it was pretty warm.

 Dinner started with a salad with lots of veggies.

My husband made fresh burgers with swiss cheese and I also had a handful of chips.

We all enjoyed this bowl of beautiful strawberries for dessert.

I am off to go for a run. It may end up being a walk with the heat. I am excited to post tomorrow! I have it all prepared and ready to publish. Its Foodie Penpal Reveal Day!!



Beachin It

Wow, our vacation has flown by! The weather has been amazing and I have had the best time enjoying with my family. Just our two younger daughters were able to go on vacation with us this year. Crazy when they start leaving the nest and getting real jobs after graduating college. I miss them!

Breakfast. My hubs had breakfast duty this week. He did good!

Then it was time for another long day at the beach.

Lunch was chicken salad sandwich on ww and a banana.

Also had Chex Mix.

Love him.

Enjoyed a Clif around 3.

Dinner was a huge salad with lots of veggies, a slice of swiss cheese and fresh guac. I did not even use the salad dressing. It was so good I did not even need it. I also added a few Triscuits.

Headed out for another run. Happy to say that I have run for the past 6 evenings. Even though I only run for 3 miles, every street in the neighborhood, I then get to hop on my bike afterward and get some added exercise. Tonight, just my husband joined me on his bike while I ran. I thought he looked super lonely so I suggest I head back to the beach house and get my bike and cut my run short. Guess where we biked a few miles to???

Candy Kitchen :) I purchased 1/4 pound of chocolate taffy!

I placed it safely into my bike bag. To dangerous to eat taffy and ride my bike! So many bikers in there that I did not feel weird wearing my bike helmet inside!! I love the beach!!!

Reset Button

Glad we all have a reset button. I used mine and it worked!! Just sayin. So nice to feel in control.

Breakfast was half a banana with cc and a banana.

 Life is good!

Lunch was turkey, swiss, lettuce and light mayo on ww bread.

Enjoyed some Chex Mix with my sandwich but just a few handfuls.

Enjoyed a Clif bar around 2.

After we got back to the house and before dinner, I headed out for a run. The sun was strong! I tried to run in the most shady areas I could find, and finished up with 3.5 miles. I headed inside, showered and got ready to go out to dinner.

After dinner these guys wanted Dairy Queen. Looks like they enjoyed it. I gave up ice cream 3 years ago and just recently have been enjoying frozen yogurt. 

Before I forget, I have to let you know what I thought of this book, "Heaven Is Here." It was truly a MUST read. As a mom, some parts were hard to read. This is one strong woman!!!!!! Check out her blog, nieniedialogues she is truly an inspiration. I would suggest reading the book first.







Wednesday Weigh In

Why Do I?

Today was absolutely beautiful and most of the day was spent outside.

Breakfast. I kept it safe with what I know. I enjoyed my Clif and banana. It was chilli this morning so I was glad to have my AE fannels.

Morning snack 1/4 cup trail mix.

Lunch was turkey, swiss, light mayo, lettuce on ww bread along with....

150 cal. chips.

Enjoyed these for dessert.

2 hours later I enjoyed some Swedish fish.

Around 4:30 we got back to the house and I grabbed a plate put some Triscuits with a slice of swiss and popped in the microwave. John shared these with me. Then Kelsey made some fresh guac but we all ate it so quickly there was no time for a picture!

I seriously went to town on these!! Then I had a few more cookies, like several. When it was time to eat dinner I just gave up. I fed the family but was not that hungry and really did not feel that well. 

 So I ended up just eating this for dinner. The only almond butter I will eat is justin's. So good on a banana.

About an hour later, I was ready for my run. The rest of the family have been riding their bikes enjoying the evening, while I get in 3 miles. When we meet back at the house, I hop on my bike to get a few more miles in. Tonight, at about mile 2, I just quit! I ended up finishing with a run/walk. The evening was cool and beautiful and could not have been better conditions for a run and here I was walking! My husband rides his bike up beside me and says, "Why are you walking?" I was walking because I have eaten CRAP!!!! 

Once I was back at the house and in my PJs the fun did not stop. While watching CRAP tv (housewives, teen mom) I started eating more CRAP. I can say that there are no more swedish fish, cookies or trail mix in the house!!
