Saturday Funday

My Saturday started off with a 7 miler. It was AWFUL. It was way too hot, humid and hilly!!! I was mad at myself for walking some of the hills. It was just one of those runs that does not go your way. Making me question everything about my running abilities!!!

After my run, I headed to the grocery store. Yes, I was dripping sweat but I was going anyway! I was super excited to see this sign. Watermelon for $2.98??? That never happens. Glad I waited until today to buy one. Yesterday was National Watermelon Day!!! For this price I bought two!!!

I had half a banana and half a Clif bar before my run. On my way to the store I finish the other half of the Clif and tossed the banana. It was warm from sitting in my car! Gross!! When I got home I was starving. So my lunch was a multi grain bagel with PB and grapes.

All the girls had plans today, so my Friday night "date night" continued on into Saturday. After lunch, I showered and got ready to head out. We had no real plans and my husband suggested Annapolis. He asked if I wanted to head over to that running store I like. Lululemon??? Yay!!!!!!!!

Fun day of shopping. Check out what I got!!

I had a coupon for a FREE pair of hip hugger panties. Hard to tell in the picture, but they are navy blue with lime green dots and lace trim.

I already had the T mug but wanted to get a J for John. I love these http://www.anthropologie.com mugs and they are only $6.

I am so excited to hang this in the foyer by the front door. It is a square glass vase ($24) that you hang on the wall. The store is Arhaus. They have amazing furniture and home furnishings. I will post a pic when I get it hung. Besides the vase, I was really excited about the bag. It is a reusable burlap bag that I love!! My husband said I should have just asked for a bag and would have been happy!

We purchased a bottle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Cleo's. I have always wanted to go to a store like this. You can sample all the oils, and they have bread to dip and taste. The store was beautiful. It is also owned by two sisters and named after their grandmother.

After testing several, John and I settled on this one.

Super excited about these!!! I have been wanting a pair of these Run Inspire Crop pants!! I have heard great things about these running crops and they will be perfect for fall running. Going to LuLulemon is a huge treat for me and it is either my birthday or Christmas!! I usually only walk out with one item because of the cost!! Nice addition to my running wardrobe.

We had to try out the frozen yogurt that Annapolis has to offer!! Besides, shopping makes you hungry:)

Do not feel bad for my husband. We did stop by Bass Pro on the way home. He spent a whopping $9. Yes, we are big spenders. NOT!!

How awesome does my dinner look?? We got back to the house around 8pm and I was hungry. I grabbed a few whole wheat tortillas (50 calories each) and piled on the veggie and sprinkled with 2% cheese.

I had to do something with these beauties from my garden.

I put one on top of the other. It was delish!!!!!!!!

Wow, it is after 11 and I need to get some sleep. The Olympics are keeping me up too late!!

Back in the Swing

Today is Monday and I am back in the swing of things. Now that the party is behind us, we have no further commitments for the rest of the summer and that is a great feeling:) I hope my husband and I can get a weekend away before the summer is over, but I guess we will have to wait and see. The summer is going by so fast!!!

Breakfast, Clif and a banana.

Snack was a string cheese.

Lunch was a PB sandwich on ww, popcorn and veggies.

Late afternoon snack. Light English muffin.

Dinner, was a veggie footlong on ww with yellow mustard. I had a small bowl of chips but admit to grabbing a few more from the bag. I really should not have eaten the entire sub. I should have saved half for tomorrow!!! I can tell that this past week that I have just been eating more and need to rein it in.

2 sugar free pops.

I got in 4 miles on the treadmill with the weighted vest. Walking, I mixed up the speed and incline for a nice sweaty work out.  I also watched the OC Housewives for my entertainment!!

Running Group & a Shower

My Saturday morning started off early with my running group! It was super hot and humid and we decided to meet at 7am!! We were hoping to get in a 7 miler but ended with 6.5.

Half half a banana on my way to meet the group.

6.5 miles later!!

After my run I finished off the other half of the banana. For breakfast I made myself 2 slices of ww toast with PB and chia seeds along with scrambled eggs. 1 egg and 2 egg whites.

Lunch was just a McD's burger. We had about a 90 minute drive to a cousins baby shower and I really was not that hungry.

Dinner was at 4pm. Ribs, baked beans and tortilla chips. Awesome baby shower food:) We have never been to a "couples" baby shower but it was fun!!

I had to enjoy a piece of cake!!

On the way home we stopped by Ikea. My daughter and son in law purchased a new chair for the nursery. I purchased a dixie cup of frozen yogurt:)

I had a crazy full day and I plan to go to bed early! Hope everyone enjoyed their Saturday.

Clean Eating

The weather has been very HOT in Maryland!! Friday evening several strong storms moved through the area, causing several thousand residents to loose electricity. Thankfully, when we returned from vacation late Saturday afternoon, we still had electricity, but more importantly, we had AC!! Many residents have been told that it may take up to 7 days for it to be restored!!

My Sunday morning started off bright and early. I always feel better when everything is unpacked and laundry done, so this morning I got everything back in its place, and I could start my day.

My husband had plans to take the puppy, Amos, down to the river on our boat. He wanted to see how this little guy would like it. Word has it that he loved it and that makes for a happy hub!

Since Saturday was a rest day for me, I wanted to hit the road runnin. I knew I needed to go early with the heat, but was not expecting it to be as warm as it was. I was glad I took water with me. I had wanted to get in 5 miles, but cut it back to 3.5.

After I got back, I took a quick shower and made myself breakfast.

Two slices of whole wheat toast with all natural PB, sprinkled with chia seeds.

How cute is my chia jar. I purchased this at Anthropologie. I think it is so cute that I may buy another one:)

Lunch was a big salad that I topped with black beans, 2% cheese and tortilla strips.

After lunch I had a few errands to do and I did not mind some alone time! I hit up Ulta (why, oh why, do I continue to return to that store when they are always out of the products I need!!) Then I stopped by Target to get a few things and picked up a bag of trail mix. I opened this in the car and had just a few handfuls. A serving size is 1/4 cup and I could have eatin half of the bag if I wasn't careful.

For dinner I made some of my own hummus. It was pretty good and I enjoyed a few Triscuits with it.

I also enjoyed a nice salad (cucumber from my garden!) and a ground turkey soft taco. Nothing great but filling. I was surprised that I did not even finish the salad. I just wasn't hungry. I really focused today on eating clean and trying to stay away from processed foods. On vacation we ate all our meals in except for pizza one night, but I really had too much candy (tootsie rolls, swedish fish, taffy) if you remember! Well, my vacation is over and now is time for sugar detox!!

Now for some exciting news!! Daughter #2, Kaitlyn Marie, got engaged Thursday night!! She is 23 years old and a project accountant. Brent, her fiance, is an engineer and they both graduated from the University of Maryland. We are so excited for them!!

Back to work tomorrow!!

Treadmill Workout

Today was a rainy day in MD. Like pouring. So this meant my workout would be inside. Yesterday, I was really tired and just decided to take a rest day. This meant two rest days in a row. I just get panicky if I go more then a day without a workout. I have been working out regularly for over 3 years, but still have days when I worry about "falling off the wagon" so to speak!! I have learned to listen to my body but still some days are harder then others.

Totally out of bananas this morning so it was just my trusty Clif bar.

Morning snack natural almonds.

Lunch. PB on ww, string cheese and Triscuits.

Afternoon snack was a Zone bar.

Stopped by the farmers market with one of my daughters and we both enjoyed a yummy banana.

Along with a few almonds.

For dinner I made myself a few whole wheat waffles and just added sugar free syrup. Should have topped them with strawberries!!!

View from my treadmill. Can my lab, Nitro, get any closer?? I think he is a tad bit jealous of the new puppy! I got on late and watched some of the OC Housewives. I wore my 10lb weighted vest (so nice to just "take off" 10 pounds!!) and walked on an incline. I continued to increase the incline and speed with each lap. This is a great workout if you do not want to run, but want to get a good sweat on! I heard about the weighted vest watching Oprah a few years ago. She had Valerie Bertinelli on her show. She had just lost a large amount of weight and she said that she wore one on the treadmill. I found mine on Amazon. I will post a picture next time. It is comfortable to wear but trust me, 10lbs is a lot of weight to carry around!! Such an eye opener!!!
