Saturday Funday

My Saturday started off with a 7 miler. It was AWFUL. It was way too hot, humid and hilly!!! I was mad at myself for walking some of the hills. It was just one of those runs that does not go your way. Making me question everything about my running abilities!!!

After my run, I headed to the grocery store. Yes, I was dripping sweat but I was going anyway! I was super excited to see this sign. Watermelon for $2.98??? That never happens. Glad I waited until today to buy one. Yesterday was National Watermelon Day!!! For this price I bought two!!!

I had half a banana and half a Clif bar before my run. On my way to the store I finish the other half of the Clif and tossed the banana. It was warm from sitting in my car! Gross!! When I got home I was starving. So my lunch was a multi grain bagel with PB and grapes.

All the girls had plans today, so my Friday night "date night" continued on into Saturday. After lunch, I showered and got ready to head out. We had no real plans and my husband suggested Annapolis. He asked if I wanted to head over to that running store I like. Lululemon??? Yay!!!!!!!!

Fun day of shopping. Check out what I got!!

I had a coupon for a FREE pair of hip hugger panties. Hard to tell in the picture, but they are navy blue with lime green dots and lace trim.

I already had the T mug but wanted to get a J for John. I love these http://www.anthropologie.com mugs and they are only $6.

I am so excited to hang this in the foyer by the front door. It is a square glass vase ($24) that you hang on the wall. The store is Arhaus. They have amazing furniture and home furnishings. I will post a pic when I get it hung. Besides the vase, I was really excited about the bag. It is a reusable burlap bag that I love!! My husband said I should have just asked for a bag and would have been happy!

We purchased a bottle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Cleo's. I have always wanted to go to a store like this. You can sample all the oils, and they have bread to dip and taste. The store was beautiful. It is also owned by two sisters and named after their grandmother.

After testing several, John and I settled on this one.

Super excited about these!!! I have been wanting a pair of these Run Inspire Crop pants!! I have heard great things about these running crops and they will be perfect for fall running. Going to LuLulemon is a huge treat for me and it is either my birthday or Christmas!! I usually only walk out with one item because of the cost!! Nice addition to my running wardrobe.

We had to try out the frozen yogurt that Annapolis has to offer!! Besides, shopping makes you hungry:)

Do not feel bad for my husband. We did stop by Bass Pro on the way home. He spent a whopping $9. Yes, we are big spenders. NOT!!

How awesome does my dinner look?? We got back to the house around 8pm and I was hungry. I grabbed a few whole wheat tortillas (50 calories each) and piled on the veggie and sprinkled with 2% cheese.

I had to do something with these beauties from my garden.

I put one on top of the other. It was delish!!!!!!!!

Wow, it is after 11 and I need to get some sleep. The Olympics are keeping me up too late!!

My Day in Pictures!

First things first. Today is my Wednesday weigh in.

Down 1 pound :) I always weigh in on Wed mornings but never this early!

We left the house at 5am! I knew John and Taylor wanted to stop for breakfast but was not sure where they would stop so I just grabbed a Clif bar  (once we were at the orientation they had some fruit and I snatched up a banana).

Sleeping beauty.

We arrived at Salisbury University just in time. It is almost 3 hours from our house. After a formal meeting with the incoming freshman and their parents, the students head off to take photos for their IDs, tours, math testing and selecting fall classes. Taylor is our youngest of 4 so this is not the first time we have done this! Our oldest graduated from SU so we are familiar with the campus. We had a few hours to kill before lunch. So this only left us one thing to do.....

Head to the beach!!! It was only about a 30 minute drive east to Ocean City. It was so beautiful I did not want to leave. We only spent 20 minutes before we headed back to the truck. So hard being responsible parents!!! We stopped and picked up some subs on the way back. John enjoys a sub shop called Red Door. The subs were huge!!

I think the sub must have weighed 3 pds! I only ate half. No way could I have eaten the entire thing.

We also enjoyed some Combos. I have not had them in a long time!!!

We got back to campus and met up with Taylor once again. She just picked up her student ID :) Then she was off for more meeting. John and I, being the great parents we are, took off once again!!

So happy to find a Starbucks right next door to the fishing store John wanted to go to!

Could not help myself. It was located right across from campus.

Orientation was a success! Time to head home. We had a great day and a long ride ahead. On the ride home we finished off the Combos and I had a few bites of my sub but it was soggy by this point:(

Once we got home, I made myself a tortilla pizza. Basically, it was a salad on a tortilla :)

This was on a dinner size plate. So yummy!!

I need to give a big thank you to skinnyrunner who posted a pic of me on her blog!! So exciting. I am currently having trouble with visitors trying to post comments to my posts. For whatever reason it will not let you!! If anyone knows how I can fix this problem please send me an email. Thanks!!

Memorial Day

Today, I started the Runners World Summer Running Streak. The streak starts Memorial Day and goes until Independence Day and all you need to do is run at least one mile each day! How cool is that? I am always up for a challenge and this will just motivate me to continue running even more. I waited until 7 pm tonight to get my run in since the weather has been very hot and humid. Even at that time of the day, I questioned what I was doing! The air was heavy and hot. I started out thinking I would do 5 miles but turned back early and did 3.5. When I was finished I enjoyed a nice cool shower:)

My daughter celebrated her 18th birthday Sunday and several of her friends spent the night. Another daughter was driving up to Dunkin Donuts to get a dozen for the girls and I went along for the ride. I grabbed a banana on the go.

In order to afford eating said donuts I grabbed old faithful.

Lunch was leftover pork, string cheese and corn chips (several helpings).

I was craving something sweet in the afternoon so I made myself one of these. So good! I had seen a post by Lexi on firelitesfire and she had made these so I figured I would give them a try. Good and so low in calories. I just used one tortilla (50 calories) and sprinkled on marsh mellows and dark chocolate chips. Then I put it in the oven on broil to melt the toppings. This is a small salad size plate. I just folded it over like a taco. Thanks Lexi.

Dinner was a foot long wheat veggie with yellow mustard and no cheese. Before we walked out the door I grabbed a bag of chips and drinks. My top is down on the wrangler so we found a shaded spot and ate in the car. I tried to resist the chips but ended up having way too many:(

After dinner I went for my run then showered. I was wanting a treat since everyone in my house was eating leftover birthday cake, so I made a banana and choc PB frosty.

Powdered PB is so low in calories and nice to add to smoothies.

Well, my holiday weekend flew by. A pig roast Saturday and a cookout and birthday party Sunday. Both days were enjoyed by lots of family and friends. My Memorial Day was full of errands, laundry and housework. It feels good to get caught up.
