Anniversary!!

Today my husband and I celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary!!

Sept. 6, 1985

Today 2012.  Love love him.

My morning started off early with a 4 mile workout on the treadmill. I knew today was going to be busy so I figured I would get my mileage out of the way. My ankle was sore but not painful.

I was a nice sweaty mess. Then I needed to shower and get to work. I have to admit that I am not one to workout in the mornings, but it did feel good!!
,

My food journal for the day. I enjoyed another Starbucks pumpkin spice latte. I have a feeling this could get dangerous!!

My grandson came to visit me at work today!! He is SO CUTE!!!

I worked until 5 today and then headed over to a new yoga studio that I have been wanting to try out. So much running and not much of anything else. I figured yoga would help me with some stretching and prevent injury as my mileage increases. My last yoga class was almost a year ago.

The studio is on Main Street downtown. I love the old historic buildings. There are some really cute shops and a coffee house right next door.

Located on the second floor, the room was small but warm and cozy. There were two other people along with the instructor. It was like getting a private class!! Once our mats were laid out we were each given warm damp washcloths to wipe our hands and feet of any oils. The class lasted an hour and I loved the instructor. She, along with her cousin are the owners. I was worried that I would be a little rusty, but she assured me that I did great. The poses felt so good as did the stretching and breathing. Once a week class is  a must for me!!! Now I just need to get on the strength training wagon:)

Goals

1. Yoga once a week.
2. Strength train once a week.
3. Long run once a week.
4. Continue with my marathon training during the week.

My husband had a long day at work and I knew he was so tired, but he offered to take me for some frozen yogurt. It was the perfect way to celebrate being married to my best friend:)

Monday Run

My Clif bar this morning was not that great. It was chocolate brownie flavor and not my favorite!!!

Amazing grapes!!

Lunch was PB sandwich, Triscuits, hardboiled egg and string cheese.

This is what is left of the strawberries I ate before heading out for a run.

My girlfriend Jen and I met at her house at 5 to do a 5 mile run. Not the greatest time of day for a run, but that was the best time for us to meet. I was a hot sweaty mess. My ankle is still super sore and may need to make a appointment with an orthopedic. Boo. It was a slow easy 5 miles for me. I wore my Garmin heart rate monitor for this run!! It is strapped around my chest just below my sports bra. Surprisingly, I never felt it!!!

My heart rate reading was 152. I have to look into what it should be but I have a feeling I did not push myself hard enough but I really took it easy with my ankle. I am excited to start wearing it and really pushing myself harder.

Dinner was a salmon burger (love these) and chips. I had another handful after these!!

We hit up the little ice cream shop in our town late last night. They sell yogurt so I agreed to go but it is expensive and I always think it taste freezer burnt!!!

Small vanilla scoop with chocolate jimmies. It is more the experience of going, and not so much how good the frozen yogurt tastes. My husband said that no one eats the frozen yogurt but me and that's why!!!!!!!

Daugther #2, Kaitlyn Marie, is 24 Tuesday so everyone is coming for dinner and a party!!

Saturday Funday

My Saturday started off with a 7 miler. It was AWFUL. It was way too hot, humid and hilly!!! I was mad at myself for walking some of the hills. It was just one of those runs that does not go your way. Making me question everything about my running abilities!!!

After my run, I headed to the grocery store. Yes, I was dripping sweat but I was going anyway! I was super excited to see this sign. Watermelon for $2.98??? That never happens. Glad I waited until today to buy one. Yesterday was National Watermelon Day!!! For this price I bought two!!!

I had half a banana and half a Clif bar before my run. On my way to the store I finish the other half of the Clif and tossed the banana. It was warm from sitting in my car! Gross!! When I got home I was starving. So my lunch was a multi grain bagel with PB and grapes.

All the girls had plans today, so my Friday night "date night" continued on into Saturday. After lunch, I showered and got ready to head out. We had no real plans and my husband suggested Annapolis. He asked if I wanted to head over to that running store I like. Lululemon??? Yay!!!!!!!!

Fun day of shopping. Check out what I got!!

I had a coupon for a FREE pair of hip hugger panties. Hard to tell in the picture, but they are navy blue with lime green dots and lace trim.

I already had the T mug but wanted to get a J for John. I love these http://www.anthropologie.com mugs and they are only $6.

I am so excited to hang this in the foyer by the front door. It is a square glass vase ($24) that you hang on the wall. The store is Arhaus. They have amazing furniture and home furnishings. I will post a pic when I get it hung. Besides the vase, I was really excited about the bag. It is a reusable burlap bag that I love!! My husband said I should have just asked for a bag and would have been happy!

We purchased a bottle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Cleo's. I have always wanted to go to a store like this. You can sample all the oils, and they have bread to dip and taste. The store was beautiful. It is also owned by two sisters and named after their grandmother.

After testing several, John and I settled on this one.

Super excited about these!!! I have been wanting a pair of these Run Inspire Crop pants!! I have heard great things about these running crops and they will be perfect for fall running. Going to LuLulemon is a huge treat for me and it is either my birthday or Christmas!! I usually only walk out with one item because of the cost!! Nice addition to my running wardrobe.

We had to try out the frozen yogurt that Annapolis has to offer!! Besides, shopping makes you hungry:)

Do not feel bad for my husband. We did stop by Bass Pro on the way home. He spent a whopping $9. Yes, we are big spenders. NOT!!

How awesome does my dinner look?? We got back to the house around 8pm and I was hungry. I grabbed a few whole wheat tortillas (50 calories each) and piled on the veggie and sprinkled with 2% cheese.

I had to do something with these beauties from my garden.

I put one on top of the other. It was delish!!!!!!!!

Wow, it is after 11 and I need to get some sleep. The Olympics are keeping me up too late!!

Running Group & a Shower

My Saturday morning started off early with my running group! It was super hot and humid and we decided to meet at 7am!! We were hoping to get in a 7 miler but ended with 6.5.

Half half a banana on my way to meet the group.

6.5 miles later!!

After my run I finished off the other half of the banana. For breakfast I made myself 2 slices of ww toast with PB and chia seeds along with scrambled eggs. 1 egg and 2 egg whites.

Lunch was just a McD's burger. We had about a 90 minute drive to a cousins baby shower and I really was not that hungry.

Dinner was at 4pm. Ribs, baked beans and tortilla chips. Awesome baby shower food:) We have never been to a "couples" baby shower but it was fun!!

I had to enjoy a piece of cake!!

On the way home we stopped by Ikea. My daughter and son in law purchased a new chair for the nursery. I purchased a dixie cup of frozen yogurt:)

I had a crazy full day and I plan to go to bed early! Hope everyone enjoyed their Saturday.
