Weigh In & Yoga

Woohoo! Down 2 pounds!!!

My morning started off early with 30 minutes on the elliptical wearing the weighted vest. I had wanted to get a few miles on the treadmill but my ankle was not feeling it. Trust me, wear a weighted vest and you will sweat!!! Then I needed to get ready for work. I had to get my clothes ready for yoga tonight and I packed a few more things for Fitbloggin!

Food journal for Wednesday.

I left work at 5:50pm so that I would get to yoga by 6:00pm. Tonight's class was a special class by candlelight. Two instructors were in the room and they were helping to ensure you were preforming the poses properly. There was attention to detail and I love that! I want to make sure that I am doing these poses correctly so it was nice that there was an instructor walking around the room, not to say anything at the time, but to tweak you when needed. When the class ended I spent several minutes asking a few questions and got some help in areas that I needed.

The room was so pretty as the sun started to set. The candlelight beautiful.

After the class light refreshments were served along with wine or hot tea. I choose some hot green tea and it was good! I am not much in to hot tea, but tonight I really enjoyed it. It was another great class and I think for my birthday this year I would love to have my girls and a few friends join me for a private class and go for a light lunch afterward. That to me sounds like the PERFECT birthay! Watch for your invites friends!!!

My dinner. A small bowl of Annie's mac n cheese.

Time to paint my nails and finish packing. I will be up early getting in a good workout before heading to BALTIMORE! Super excited!!!

Productive Sunday

I love productive Sundays. Today, I managed to get a lot done around the house. Laundry, vacuuming, organizing and managed a workout. I also made my "to do" list and hope to get everything crossed off in the next few days. This just helps me to feel in control. To me, that's a great feeling!!!!

I enjoyed breakfast at Starbucks with a few of my daughters. Love their spinach wraps!

Morning snack. I love a good banana.

Lunch was toast with almond, peanut and cashew butter. SO GOOD.

My husband went crabbing this morning. He always brings me back fresh corn and a watermelon. I do not eat the crabs, crazy I know, but our girls love them. Maryland Blue Crabs are very expensive and my daughters get to enjoy them almost every weekend FREE thanks to their dad!! My husband loves to be out on the water and loves crabbing. He steams the corn with the crabs. The spice and vinegar makes the corn taste amazing!! Who needs butter???!! I enjoyed two ears and so much watermelon that I may turn into one.

So so good. Ate way too much, but can you really eat too much watermelon???

I was really not that hungry for dinner so I just had a few Triscuits and cheese.

Tonight, I walked two miles on the treadmill with the weighted vest. My knee is still a little sore from my run yesterday so I wanted to take it easy. The women that I ran with yesterday talked to me about the importance of strength training. How this will help me to be a better, stronger runner. I have been really bad about it this summer. It was a nice push by these runners to get me to lift some weights tonight.

I have all the necessary equipment but I end up going right to my treadmill and have let this get dusty. Well, tonight I dusted it off. I did just upper body.

This was written several years ago by my girlfriends husband. He is a personal trainer and stopped by my house to take a look at my workout room. He wrote up a schedule for me that I have not used in a long time. Glad I still had it and I can say that my arms are sore. Feels good sore. Now I just need to get into a strength training schedule that I will stick too!!!!

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekends! Mine was amazing!!!! Hope everyone got to see the pictures of my new grandson. So sweet!!!!

Back in the Swing

Today is Monday and I am back in the swing of things. Now that the party is behind us, we have no further commitments for the rest of the summer and that is a great feeling:) I hope my husband and I can get a weekend away before the summer is over, but I guess we will have to wait and see. The summer is going by so fast!!!

Breakfast, Clif and a banana.

Snack was a string cheese.

Lunch was a PB sandwich on ww, popcorn and veggies.

Late afternoon snack. Light English muffin.

Dinner, was a veggie footlong on ww with yellow mustard. I had a small bowl of chips but admit to grabbing a few more from the bag. I really should not have eaten the entire sub. I should have saved half for tomorrow!!! I can tell that this past week that I have just been eating more and need to rein it in.

2 sugar free pops.

I got in 4 miles on the treadmill with the weighted vest. Walking, I mixed up the speed and incline for a nice sweaty work out.  I also watched the OC Housewives for my entertainment!!

Back to Work

So hard returning to work after a vacation!! Especially, when it is the end of the month, and everything needs to be closed out. Back to my routine and sometimes that's not so bad.

Back to my usual breakfast. Clif and a banana.

1/4 cup trail mix for a snack.

Lunch was pretty boring. Just a PB sandwich on ww and...

Triscuits. I really need to get to the grocery store.

When I got off work today, I had to stop by the vacuum store. My vacuum had a piece break, and I thought it would just be a simple fix. NOT. I have to buy and entire new hose that leads to the broken piece and it costs $139. I was not prepared for that and said I would have to wait. When I left, I called my husband and we were hoping to find it cheaper online. We did find it, but by the time you add shipping costs, we would have only saved a few dollars. If you know anything about me, I have issues with vacuuming. I seriously vacuum EVERYDAY. So, to be without my vacuum it not so good. When I get off work tomorrow I am heading back to the vacuum store!! Ugh, who wants to spend money on that??? Stinks!

Enjoyed this in the car on my way home.

Laughing Cow cheese (35 cal.) and Triscuits while I searched the internet for my vacuum replacement.

Dinner was a nice big salad with veggies, 1 cup lasagna and one slice of french bread.

Yummy strawberries!

After dinner, I hit the treadmill late. The day really got away from me. I did a 3.5 mile walk with the weighted vest on incline. I totally could have pushed myself harder but just didn't. Still a good work out:)

Color Me Lucky

I have had the best week ever!! So many exciting things happening to this blogger:) First things first: this morning I got up and did an hour long workout on the treadmill. I wore my weighted vest, walking using different speeds and inclines, all the while watching a little of the Today Show. I knew I had a lot going on today so I figured if I did not workout this morning it would not happen. So glad I did!!

Breakfast. I love a good Clif bar:)

1/4 cup trail mix.

Lunch was the usual.

After work I enjoyed Newman's Own Peanut Butter Cups. They were VERY good!

I threw dinner together tonight. I had a few sweet potatoes that I sliced up and then baked. We had leftover chicken from last night mixed with peppers and onions on a 100 calorie tortilla. I love quick and easy meals. My husband enjoyed a salad but I did not feel like one tonight.

I had a busy afternoon getting things done around the house. Plus, I got some of my packing started! I love vacations. Wish the entire family could come, but now that these college graduates have REAL jobs, they have a hard time taking off work!!

I love running at the beach!! It is one of the things I look forward to most. My husband rides his bike while I enjoy a good run. Boardwalk running is so fun too!

I wanted something sweet and this worked well for me tonight, but then I wanted something salty.....

Handful of almonds. I hate eating after 7pm but I felt like it!!

So, on to my exciting blog week: first skinnyrunner shared a picture of me on her blog (seriously, over 1200 hits on my blog that day) and today I WON color me rad 5k entry from happyfitmama!!! I won 2 entries!!! Super excited! When I entered, I told my daughter Kelsey how cool this race was and if I did win, she was running it with me! When I logged on this morning to see that I had won, I raced to her room waking her up so excited to tell her!! It will be fun to post pictures of this race. Can't wait:)

Treadmill Tuesday

It is warming up in MD today. Tomorrow is suppose to be even hotter! I had so many things to do around the house after work, that the day got away from me. Never enough time in the day!

Breakfast.

Snack.

Lunch.

Afternoon snack.

Dinner started with a salad with lots of veggies. I love the Ken's salad dressing.

Dinner was two stuffed shells and a light English muffin. Salad size plate.

I finally got things cleaned up after dinner and hit the treadmill. I wore the weighted vest and just walked for an hour. Totally fine with that. I still worked up a good sweat:)

Tomorrow we have a busy day. Our youngest daughter has orientation at Salisbury University. It is a 3 hour drive and we need to get there before 9 so I am off to bed!!

I hope to share my bucket list for the summer tomorrow:)
