Exciting Tuesday!!

Such a great day for me!!! Today, I registered for Fitbloggin!!!

Super excited!!!! http://fitbloggin.com/ is taking place in Baltimore in September. I even booked my hotel. This is for bloggers interested in living a healthy lifestyle. Two days of learning!!! Plus, some of my favorite bloggers are going to be there!! Seriously, I cannot wait!

I started a new running training program today. I downloaded Hal Hidgon's program on my iphone. I also had on my Garmin. Today was suppose to be a 3 miler but since I accidentally hit pause twice, it would start the program over!! Ugh, then I looked at my Garmin and I never hit the start button. I had to follow the program and hit the 3 miles for it to record my progress, so this is why I ended up running 4. Next run, I will lock my phone!! Still, a good hot sweaty run.

Breakfast

 Lunch.

Kashi snack.

100 calorie popcorn.

Dinner. Turkey, raw veggies, couscous, cornbread.

Enjoyed 2 sugar free pops after my run.

Are any of my favorite bloggers attending FitBloggin??? There are so many bloggers that inspire me and I can't wait to meet them!

Productive Sunday

I love productive Sundays. Today, I managed to get a lot done around the house. Laundry, vacuuming, organizing and managed a workout. I also made my "to do" list and hope to get everything crossed off in the next few days. This just helps me to feel in control. To me, that's a great feeling!!!!

I enjoyed breakfast at Starbucks with a few of my daughters. Love their spinach wraps!

Morning snack. I love a good banana.

Lunch was toast with almond, peanut and cashew butter. SO GOOD.

My husband went crabbing this morning. He always brings me back fresh corn and a watermelon. I do not eat the crabs, crazy I know, but our girls love them. Maryland Blue Crabs are very expensive and my daughters get to enjoy them almost every weekend FREE thanks to their dad!! My husband loves to be out on the water and loves crabbing. He steams the corn with the crabs. The spice and vinegar makes the corn taste amazing!! Who needs butter???!! I enjoyed two ears and so much watermelon that I may turn into one.

So so good. Ate way too much, but can you really eat too much watermelon???

I was really not that hungry for dinner so I just had a few Triscuits and cheese.

Tonight, I walked two miles on the treadmill with the weighted vest. My knee is still a little sore from my run yesterday so I wanted to take it easy. The women that I ran with yesterday talked to me about the importance of strength training. How this will help me to be a better, stronger runner. I have been really bad about it this summer. It was a nice push by these runners to get me to lift some weights tonight.

I have all the necessary equipment but I end up going right to my treadmill and have let this get dusty. Well, tonight I dusted it off. I did just upper body.

This was written several years ago by my girlfriends husband. He is a personal trainer and stopped by my house to take a look at my workout room. He wrote up a schedule for me that I have not used in a long time. Glad I still had it and I can say that my arms are sore. Feels good sore. Now I just need to get into a strength training schedule that I will stick too!!!!

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekends! Mine was amazing!!!! Hope everyone got to see the pictures of my new grandson. So sweet!!!!

Rainy Run

So happy to be getting back in the groove of things. Today has been an awesome Saturday. It started with a 6am morning run with my running group. It was raining pretty heavily when we started out, but I LOVE running in the rain. The past two Saturdays it has been raining, so I have been fine with that.We decided on 8 miles and I felt great starting out. I really enjoy the people that I have been running with. They are amazing runners and great motivators. We had some major hills that I rocked thanks to them!!! My right knee started to really act up at mile 7. Not bad enough that I felt the need to stop, but it did worry me.

8 rainy miles!! Loved it.

Breakfast was a banana and Clif bar.

After my run, even though I was a hot sweaty mess, I headed to the grocery store. I really needed to go and it was early enough that I knew it would not be too crowded. I did get a few stares, but who cares! I was so COLD in the store since my clothes/socks were wet and the AC, that I grabbed a hot chocolate from Starbucks.
Skim milk, no whip.

I foamed rolled and put on my compression socks to wear for the rest of the day. I hope that this will help with the knee pain I had during my run today.

Protein shake.

After I showered and got all the groceries but away, we headed to the hospital. There was a little someone that I could not wait to get my hands on!!

OMG, he is the sweetest thing ever!!!

The proud grandparents xoxo

Late afternoon lunch. Turkey, pepperjack cheese, lettuce and olive oil mayo on whole wheat. Strawberries, 6 triscuits and some fresh guac.

After lunch, we took this girl, daughter #3 shopping!! She starts her new job at a law firm in a few days and she needs "big girl" clothes.  This college grad needs a new wardrobe to go with that degree. Nordstrom was having a great sale!! She purchased 3 pairs of shoes at Nordstrom and also got some great deals at Ann Taylor and the Limited. She reminded me of Julia Roberts from Pretty Woman, "Big mistake. Huge. I have to go shopping now!"

We got home kinda late and I needed to get dinner going. I grabbed these veggie burgers at the store and decided to try one out. I loved it!!

I enjoyed it on a whole wheat bun with a handful of chips.

I had a great day today. It started with my alarm at 5:15am and am now headed to bed at 10:30pm. It was the perfect Saturday!!
